Service dog rights are legally protected under many federal and state laws making it important for service dogs to behave in a safe and reliable manner in public. For this reason we hold all our service dog teams to high educational, safety, and behavioral standards. We know it sounds like a lot of work, but don’t worry, we’ll be here to help you every step of the way!
All our service dog training programs require a year long commitment. During that year we require that you maintain records of all your dogs training. The training program you choose will change how many hours you will need to spend training your dog over the course of that year. Training hours range from 250 to 1,000 hours.
Testing and Certification Requirements
My Dog and Me service dog teams must pass various levels of testing starting with the AKC Canine Good Citizen Test and the AKC Community Canine Test followed by a rigorous Public Access test based on the minimum standards set by the industry. Recertification is required annually.
